Junior Trials for 2024/25

External Trials for our 2025/25 Junior District teams will be held in August 2024 - see dates below.

These EXTERNAL trials are for players who have not played District basketball with the Bearcats in 2024.

Current District players do not need to trial and will instead be invited to squad trainings (which will be held on Sunday August 25, Sunday September 8 and Sunday September 15; a detailed schedule is HERE).

West will be entering teams in Basketball SA's Junior District competition and the Adelaide Community Basketball Association (ACBA) competition in 2024/25.

The 2024/25 District and ACBA seasons each commence early in Term 4 of the school year.

Please Note: Players who are invited to squad trainings but who will require a clearance from another club will be advised at the conclusion of squad trainings (well before the new seasons start) if they have been accepted to West Adelaide; players should not seek a clearance until they know they have a spot in a team at West Adelaide.

EXTERNAL TRIALS - JUNIOR BOYS & GIRLS - U8 TO U18

These trials are only for players who have NOT played DISTRICT Basketball with the West Adelaide Bearcats in 2024.

You may be new to District basketball, playing ACBA or Bearcats Cubs, or currently be playing with a different club.

PLEASE NOTE:

All External Junior Trials are at Port Adelaide (50 St Vincent Street, Port Adelaide)
Arrive at least 15 minutes early and bring a water bottle and a basketball (if you have one)

SESSIONS TIMES

UNDER 8/9 and UNDER 10 GIRLS & BOYS (born 2016/17/18/19) - 4-11 AUGUST 2024

West has an Under 8/9 Cubs program for players starting in a competitive environment, while Under 10 players may play in the District or ACBA competitions
Players can attend multiple sessions
Boys & Girls: Sunday 4 August 2024 & Sunday 11 August 2024 - 9:15am to 10:15am at Port Adelaide (50 St Vincent Street)
Boys: Tuesday 6 August 2024 - 4:45pm - 5:45pm at Port Adelaide (50 St Vincent Street)
Girls: Wednesday 7 August 2024 at Port Adelaide (50 St Vincent Street)
These sessions are not a traditional "trial" as such - all U8 and U10 players will be offered a spot in a team, either District, ACBA or Cubs (for U8). The purpose of this session is to indicate to parents which program may best suit their child at this stage of their basketball
